Frequently Asked Questions
Important information for your Amazon adventure.
Do I need vaccinations for the Amazon?
We highly recommend consulting with a travel doctor at least 4 weeks before your trip regarding vaccinations. While not always mandatory, yellow fever vaccination is recommended, and some travelers opt for malaria prophylaxis.
What is the best time to visit?
The Amazon can be visited year-round. The dry season (May–October) is generally better for hiking and viewing wildlife. The rainy season (November–April) can bring more rain, but it is excellent for river navigation and observing unique seasonal plant life.
How should I pack for the jungle?
Pack lightweight, breathable, and quick-drying clothing in neutral colors. Long sleeves and pants are essential for protection against insects. You will also need sturdy walking shoes and plenty of high-quality, DEET-based insect repellent.
