Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to help you prepare for this high-altitude trail run.
How fit do I need to be?
This tour is specifically designed for active runners. You should have experience with trail running and be comfortable sustaining physical exertion on steep inclines. Because we will be running at altitudes up to 3,550m, excellent cardiovascular fitness is essential.
Do I need to acclimatize before this run?
Yes. Running at high altitude places intense strain on your lungs and muscles. We strictly require all runners to spend at least 2 to 3 days acclimatizing in Cusco or the Sacred Valley before attempting this active tour.
What should I wear?
You must bring proper trail running shoes with aggressive grip, as the terrain is rocky and uneven. We highly recommend a hydration vest/pack, moisture-wicking activewear, a light windbreaker, and sun protection.
