Do I need to bring my passport?


Yes. It is absolutely mandatory to bring your original, physical passport. You will not be allowed to board the train or enter the Machu Picchu citadel without it.

What should I pack for the day?


Machu Picchu is located in the cloud forest, meaning the weather can be warm, humid, or rainy. Pack insect repellent, sunscreen, a hat, comfortable walking shoes, and a light rain jacket or poncho. Large backpacks are not permitted inside the citadel.

Are there restrooms inside Machu Picchu?


There are no restrooms once you enter the archaeological site. You must use the facilities located right outside the main entrance gate before beginning your tour.
